Why should I hire Micah to perform for my event?
Hailed by the Columbia Free Times for a sound described as "clean, clear and virtuosic" and "absolutely ravishing", Micah performs year round as a full-time professional violinist and his time is solely dedicated to performing on his instrument. He performs for well over 50 weddings and special events a year (sometimes up to 4 a weekend) in addition to a busy solo, orchestral, and chamber music career, and has the experience and abilities that most others simply do not have.
What makes Micah different from other options I see online for live music?
Micah is not a contractor, unlike most other options you might find online. When you book musicians through a DJ company or a typical musician/contractor, the client (you) will generally pay more and the musicians will be paid less (and be of lesser quality) to make up for the overhead. When Micah assembles a string duo, trio, or quartet for your event , the fee for the event is divided equally between every musician in the group. This guarantees Micah can provide the best musicians to perform with him for your event because they can trust him to pay them a fair and equal amount.
How can I compare how Micah performs to other musicians I am considering for my event?
If you are considering several options for live music for your event it is highly recommended that you compare their audio and video tracks, biographical information, and look at their reviews and recommendations from past clients.
What musicians does Micah work with if I want a trio or string quartet?
Micah only asks trusted colleagues that he works with on a regular basis. Like Micah, they will be "full-time" professional musicians, meaning performing music is their only job and not just a hobby or a way to make a little extra money.
How do I reserve Micah for my event?
Your day and time will be reserved as soon as Micah receives a signed contract from you in the mail, email, or in person.
What would the fee be for my event?
All rates are individually determined by the type of event, the location of the event, the duration of the event, and the number of musicians wanted to perform for the event. To inquire about rates, please contact Micah on the Contact Page.
Can Micah perform for my outdoor event?
Yes. Micah regularly performs for outdoor events, however, because he and the musicians he works with perform on extremely expensive and delicate instruments, the instruments must be protected from weather conditions and temperature extremes.
(Micah performs on a violin made by Pierre Charles Jacquot in Paris, France in 1856)
Is Micah available to perform for my event?
The only way to know for sure is to contact Micah directly. If he is not available to perform, he would be happy to put you in contact with a qualified, professional colleague so you can be sure to have the best possible music for your event.
